The Chess Set specialises in individual and often hard-to-replace chess books, sets, and related items. Each item is described individually and condition notes are provided where relevant. This Returns Policy explains the circumstances under which returns may be accepted.

Change of Mind

Returns for change of mind are generally not accepted. Because many items offered are unique or limited-availability collectables, purchases should be considered carefully before completing an order.

Incorrect or Misdescribed Items

If an item received differs materially from its description, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. Where a genuine error has occurred, we will work with you to arrange an appropriate resolution, which may include:

• return of the item for a refund, or
• another mutually agreed solution.

Items must be returned in the same condition in which they were received.

Damaged Items

If an item arrives damaged in transit, please contact us promptly and include photographs of the packaging and the item so the issue can be assessed.

Return Process

Before returning any item, please contact us through the website’s Contact page so that return instructions can be provided. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.

Shipping Costs

Unless an item has been materially misdescribed, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable.
