The second match for the title of world chess champion took place in Moscow, in the autumn of 1985, between two outstanding Grandmasters, Anatoly Karpov and Garri Kasparov. It was the unanimous opinion of everyone connected with the match – chess players and commentators alike – that the match as an exceptionally tense sporting battle, distinguished by the remarkable creative achievements of the two contestants. This book sets out all the games played, together with commentaries by two leading chess theorists, the Grandmasters Yuri Averbakh and Mark Taimanov.
