Description

The Modern Benoni is one of Black’s most aggressive replies to 1 P-Q4. Originally introduced by Marshall in 1927, the line only received full recognition when Tal became world champion. In the first part of the book Willian Harston analyses all the main variations of the Modern Benoni with the opening 1 P-Q4 N-KB3 2 P-QB4 P-B4 3 P-Q5 P-K3 4 N-QB3 PxP 5 PxP P-Q3.

The second and third parts of the book deal with the Czech Benoni and other systems such as the King’s Indian Benoni, Schmid’s system and the Semi-Benoni.
